JULIA

In the play Julia, an adaptation of August Strindberg's "Miss Julie," Christiane Jatahy explores the interaction between cinema and theater to tell the story of Julia and Gelson. By inserting projections of previously-filmed scenes on stage as well as images that were recorded life, combined with the performance of the two actors on stage, the director straddles the line between what is staged and what is real.

For the graphic design project, we looked for a photo taken in the film shoot that would be used in all of the graphic materials; an image that was itself a synthesis of the storyline, upon which we interfered by cropping it in such a way as to emphasize the concept of the limits of reality.
